4-Methyl-2-Propyl-6-Benzimidazolecarboxylic Acid, also known as Telmisartan Benzimidazole Acid (CAS: 152628-03-0) is an important intermediate of Telmisartan (CAS: 144701-48-4). Telmisartan is a potent, long lasting, non-peptide AT1 angiotensin receptor antagonist indicated for: Treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. Cardiovascular (CV) risk reduction in patients unable to take ACE inhibitors. Used alone or in combination with other classes of antihypertensives for the treatment of hypertension. Also used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as well as the treatment of congestive heart.
