Posaconazole is a triazole antifungal drug widely used in the treatment of invasive infections. Posaconazole is a broad-spectrum triazole compound that is active against fungi by inhibiting the lanosterol 14α-demethylase enzyme. Posaconazole is derived from itraconazole. Its pharmacological effects are similar with azoles, but compared with Itraconazole, it has a stronger inhibitory effect on the C14 demethylation of steroid, especially for Aspergillus.
