Application:

m-Anisaldehyde (CAS 591-31-1), also named 3-Methoxybenzaldehyde, as a chemical raw material and organic intermediates and fragrances is widely used in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering. Used as pharmaceutical intermediates, organic synthesis intermediates. m-Anisaldehyde is used to prepare 3-(3-methoxy-phenyl)-1-phenyl-propenone by reaction with benzldehyde. It is used as an eluent for mono-13C isotopomers of vanillin in normal phase silica gel chromatography. It acts as an inhibitor of 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK) metabolism. m-Anisaldehyde is a reagent used in the synthesis of substrate inhibitors of acylated quinoline N-oxides. Also used in organic synthesis involving potent heterodimeric modulators of breast cancer resistance protein. m-Anisaldehyde is an endogenous metabolite.
