Application:

Losartan Potassium is the first potent and selective non-peptide angiotensin II receptor type 1 (AT1) antagonist introduced to the market as a once-daily oral antihypertensive. The concentration that inhibits 50% of the binding of angiotensin II (IC50) is 20 nM. Losartan (40 μM) affects ISC but prevents the effect of ANGII on ISC. Losartan significantly reduces Ang II-mediated cell proliferation in endometrial cancer cells. The combination of losartan and anti-miR-155 has a significantly greater antiproliferative effect compared to each drug alone. It is metabolized to produce the 5-carboxylic acid metabolite (EXP3174) and is reported to lower blood pressure. It is currently being researched as a potential treatment for COVID-19 for its potential to mitigate or possibly attenuate the symptoms of COVID-19. 1. For the treatment of essential hypertension, it can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs (such as diuretics). 2. For the treatment of heart failure, it can be used alone or in combination with cardiotonic or diuretic Chemicalbook drugs. 3.
