Application:

Lansoprazole (CAS: 103577-45-3) is in a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPI) which prevent the stomach from producing gastric acid. The other drugs in PPI family include: Rabeprazole, Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, Esomeprazole. Proton pump inhibitors are used for the treatment of conditions such as ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome that are caused by stomach acid. Lansoprazole, like other proton-pump inhibitors, blocks the enzyme in the wall of the stomach that produces acid. By blocking the enzyme, the production of acid is decreased, and this allows the stomach and esophagus to heal. Lansoprazole has significant inhibitory effect on basal gastric acid secretion and gastric acid secretion caused by all stimulants (such as histamine, carbachol, etc.). The acid inhibition effect of lansoprazole is obviously better than that of H2 receptor blockers. The degree of inhibition depends on the concentration of lansoprazole. Function: Lansoprazole is a new generation of proton inhibitor, which acts on the last loop of gastric acid secretion and strongly inhibits gastric acid. Lansoprazole is used to treat duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis and other diseases.
